To New Beginnings…

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It’s a brand new year, a brand new start and the perfect opportunity to make some changes in your life for the better. I read online that 2019 is the year of leaving toxic people behind and focusing on yourself, and that sounds pretty fuckin’ good to me.

I can fully appreciate that some people get a wee bit pissed of at this time of the year when it comes to resolutions. Every Tom, Dick and Harry is swearing hands down that this is their year and honestly, it’s probs not. However, with that being said, I also think people should mind their own business; if Penelope says she wants to lose 900lbs this year, that’s her decision and no one else needs to have an opinion on it.

Personally, I always make resolutions because I like having something to work towards. Do I always stick to them? No, I’m not perfect. But I always give them a good go and that’s what matters.

My resolutions this year fall into 3 categories: Personal, Financial and Career. Personally, I wanna have a body I feel comfortable in. This means diet, exercise and a lot of will power. Financially, I want to have surplus money in my bank so I can treat myself to those gorge shoes or that fancy bra. I am really good at managing my money, but after my bills come out I have very little to ‘play’ with. And finally, career wise, I want to put 110% effort into my degree so that at the end of uni I have a good chance of getting a job I actually enjoy.

My goals for 2019 are fairly simple. I want to go on more walks with my dog, my friends, my family and even myself. I want to start exercising more. Like I said, I’m on a body transformation journey and it’s not gonna happen sitting on my arse playing Animal Crossing. I wanna read more too. I have a passion for books and literature and I want to make time to wind down with a good book in the evenings. I’m toying with the idea of buying a Kindle (not a Kindle Fire) so if you have one, I’d love to know what you think of it!

My wants for 2019 are for there to be less bitchiness in the world. I cannot stand two-faced people! If you don’t like someone, either tell them straight up or don’t bother with them at all. Stop this ‘nice to their face, bitch behind their back’ nonsense. I want there to be less judgement in the world. Let Sally wear her neon yellow knickers over her bicycle shorts and let Bob grow his hair to his ass, braid it and decorate it with daisies. At the end of the day, if it makes them happy then it’s none of your business. I’m guilty of internally judging people (we all are!) so I need to work on this too! A final want is for humans to be kinder to our planet. Whether you believe in global warming or not (it’s a proven fact tho so I don’t know why you wouldn’t) our planet is dying and it’s all down to us. Have meat free Mondays, cut down on your dairy consumption, buy a bag for life and turn off your bloody bedroom light when you leave the room! Small steps make BIG differences!

Do you have any goals for 2019? I’d love to hear what everyone wants for the new year!

Until next time…

C.

  1. I love reading people’s goals, it just makes me so excited to tackle mine! I have a similar goal with finances where I want that extra money in my account, so I can buy items that I don’t need, but that I want. Thanks for sharing!
