I’ve always been a bit ‘wishy-washy’ when it comes to having a proper skincare routine (and sticking to it). Somehow, I always seem to be able to find an excuse to skip my routine and never feel an ounce of regret until my skin starts to retaliate against my laziness.
I do a lot of online shopping and I have my fave shops to buy particular things (Asos for clothes, River Island for bags, Amazon for literally anything I could ever want…) and Superdrug is my go-to place for all of my skincare and makeup needs.
Superdrug have their own skincare brand called Simply Pure and this, my lovelies, is the brand I’m talking about. I have the Micellar Cleansing water, Gentle Face Cleanser and Light Emlusion Moisturiser and these have been staples in my skincare routine as of late!
After a long day, I make a point of removing my makeup. I have enough problems with my skin without falling asleep with a full face of makeup on. Most days, I run a makeup wipe over my face and call it quits, but ~sometimes~ I also use the Simply Pure micellar cleansing water. The difference this makes is unbelievable! I’ve been wearing (and removing) makeup for 6-7 years and I’m still always so surprised at the poor job a makeup wipe alone does at removing makeup. I only think my face is clean until I use this micellar cleansing water and see that I’ve removed another whole layer!
On days when I feel like going the extra mile, after using a makeup wipe and miceller cleansing water I also use the gentle facial cleanser. This stuff is so easy to massage into a lather which leaves your face feeling squeaky clean! I use a flannel to remove the bubbles and pat my face dry with a towel. You can literally see how clean this stuff leaves you!
I find that vigorously cleansing my face dries it out really badly, so moisturising is an absolute MUST for me! I won’t lie to you, I have no idea what ‘light emulsion’ means but a moisturiser is a moisturiser to me and this one is super hydrating! I already have really dry skin so cleansing sorta doubles it, but the smallest amount of this moisturiser hydrates and leaves your skin feeling so smooth!
What are your favourite skincare brands/products? Are you a diehard cleanser or do you slack in the skincare department a bit?
Until next time…
