First blog post: starting fresh

Hello Everybody!

I have been blogging since the beginning of 2015. It’s nearly 2017, so that’s nearly 2 whole years I’ve spent rambling on the internet. I didn’t always have this blog though, no, this is my new blog that I have decided to start (quite late at night… I should be sleeping for school tomorrow) simply because I felt like a change. After a while, I found that I wasn’t really enjoying myself and blogging felt more like a chore than a hobby that I love to do. I feel like a change of scenery will cure this, so I’ve decided to throw caution into the wind and set sail on a new blogging adventure over the great ocean we call the internet.I know, change can be scary and what about all the posts I’m leaving behind on my old blog? Well, truthfully, not many people read that blog but I continued to write it because it’s what I love to do. As for the big change, my boss at work once told me (while we were having an extremely deep conversation about remodelling the shop he owns and I work in)  “Without change, we can’t progress.” That saying has stuck with me since he said it almost a year ago, and I believe it’s a very important mind-set to have.

Yes, change is scary, but it doesn’t have to be. Change can be wonderful, magical and quite possibly the best thing for you. I’ve decided to create a new blog in the hopes that it will lift me out of my ‘blogging funk’.

I do hope that you will come along on this ‘Journey of Change’, as I have just decided to call it, and together we can explore new things (and be best friends!)

What got you into blogging ? What inspires you to keep your blog alive ? Are there any big changes you’re planning ?

Until next time…

  1. I totally get what you mean. I currently feel so tired and sick of blogging even though everything has been going so well. I’ve worked with some incredible brands, hit 1000 followers on instagram and 500 on bloglovin and all of this happened this year yet i still don’t feel happy with how the blog is. I’ve decided that I’m going to create change by trying out some different types of posts.

  2. Saw your questions below and wanted to answer: What got you into blogging? I just wanted an outlet to where I can voice my thoughts. What inspires you to keep your blog alive? When I see other amazing blog posts. Are there any big changes you’re planning?Just to keep going and not give up.

  3. I’ve never been one to embrace change, you should have seen my reaction the year my mum put the Christmas tree in a different spot! 😂 Needless to say it’s something I’ve had to get accustomed to and these days I try to see the positive and/or opportunities that change may bring xxx

  4. Loved reading this post! Change can be so good sometimes, and so refreshing! Blogging always gets me motivated to put just that little bit of extra effort into something, wether it’s a recipe, or outfit post, it always pushes me to go just that bit further into making something look cute.

  5. I know exactly how you’re feeling with jumping into a new blog from scratch. Recently, I went self-hosted and opted not to move all my old posts over in order to have a clean slate. Sometimes it’s good for the creative flow, best of luck lovely! I can’t wait to see what you have in store xxx

  6. Change may always be scary, but sometimes it is so needed!

I started blogging because I wanted somewhere to be myself. I wanted to be able to talk about everything I loved without any judgement.
I keep it going, no matter how hard it gets, because I know some people actually read it. Plus I’ve got my own little corner of the internet, which is amazing!
Currently no changes are planned, but I want to go self hosted within the next year, which will be fabulous! I can’t wait to have a site that is completely my own!

  7. I literally just did the same thing this year, I wanted to start fresh and give myself a new space to be creative with. I think change is scary but such a necessary part of the creative process! Love the post by the way, very relatable!
